8 students and 2 academic staff members of the OCU Faculty of Law visited the University of Seoul for an exchange project with the School of Economics on 23 September 2016.

OCU and the University of Seoul concluded an international academic exchange agreement in April 2014. The current exchange visits builds on that agreement but originally came into being through a long friendship between Professor Fumio Nagai of the OCU Graduate School of Law and Professor Young Joo Kwon, former Dean of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Seoul.

The participating students had prepared questions about each country’s political and social background in a pre-departure study session and sought the answers to those questions with their counterparts during the exchange session in Seoul. Although Japan and South-Korea are neighboring countries, there are many things they do not know about each other. The exchange class was a good way to become aware of this and also offered the students an opportunity to see their country through outside eyes.

At the end of the day an informal get-together was arranged, where students got to know each other more personally.
